Going out to lunch should be a pleasant event. But how often is there trouble agreeing on which restaurant to go to? There is even disagreement as to which type of food to get. The preferences range from Italian, to Indian, to a burger, to vegan, and more. There isn’t really any way to make everyone happy. Oftentimes, at least one person in the party will be slightly less than thrilled with the choice of a lunch spot. Gourmet food truck gatherings can be the answer to such a dining dilemma.

The gourmet food truck scene in the Bay Area has been rapidly expanding over the last few years, and earlier this year food trucks really took off in San Jose. With the creation of SJEats, which soon became Movable Feast San Pedro Square, downtown San Jose now has a weekly food truck meet up with new and different trucks every week. Moveable Feast San Pedro Square is located at 175 W. St. John Street, and takes place every Saturday between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Past Moveable Feast events featured, among many others, the following trucks: An The Go (garlic noodles), Babaloo (organic Cuban), Chairman Bao (steamed and baked buns), Treatbot (a Karaoke ice cream truck), Le Bon (French Vietnamese), Mayo+Mustard (custom sandwiches), MoBowl (rice bowls),  MoGo BBQ (Korean Mexican), The Louisiana Territory (Cajun), and Little Green Cyclo (organic Vietnamese). Each Moveable Feast event features about half a dozen trucks. As is evident from the list, there is likely something for everyone.

Moveable Feast has been continuously improving the meet ups, and there is now plenty of seating as well as live music. It’s a kids-friendly event with space to run around and dining options for many tastes and preferences.

The best way to stay up-to-date about the current week’s line up of trucks is to like MVBLfeast on Facebook and follow them on Twitter.
