Mother’s Day Weekend Food Fun in the San Jose Area, Part 3

Mother’s Day is only a few days away, but there is still time to make reservations for a special meal out. A previous article highlighted the Saratoga Springtime Wine Stroll as well as two brunch menus at The Fairmont in San Jose as great ways to celebrate Mother’s Day 2012 in the San Jose area. Another article highlighted the brunch menus of California Café in Los Gatos and LB Steak on Santana Row. Following are additional restaurants offering special menus on Mother’s Day.

For Mother’s Day, Village California Bistro on Santana Row has added a prix fixe breakfast as well as a prix fixe brunch to its breakfast and brunch menu. The prix fixe breakfast costs $22 and starts with fresh orange or grapefruit juice, followed by a fruit cup, yogurt, granola, and berries, or a croissant. The second course choices are a “BLT & E” croissant sandwich, a fluffy omelet, a three egg scramble, eggs Benedict, and more. The prix fixe brunch is $29 and starts with spring onion soup or organic lettuces. Second course choices include a pan-seared organic chicken breast, a lamb burger, or twice cooked “Cubano” pork. The third course is either strawberry shortcake or spring panna cotta and berries.

Il Fornaio, located at 302 South Market  Street  in San Jose, offers a Champagne Buffet from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Mother’s Day. The brunch costs $41.95 per adult and $19.95 for children between five and twelve years old. Reservations can be made via OpenTable.
