It is a tradition for many to barbecue on the Fourth of July. But not everyone has the space or desire to do so at home. Those who want to eat some barbecued food on the Fourth but not grill it themselves can enjoy a tasty meal at a restaurant in the San Jose area.

Santana Row will celebrate Independence Day with a Summer Block Party, and many of the Santana Row stores will have sidewalk sales. Like last year, The Counter will have an outdoor barbeque in Park Valencia from noon until 5 p.m. Diners can build their own mini burgers at the burger bar. California Café in Los Gatos will have a special “chillin’ & grillin” BBQ on the Fourth. Grilled items include hot dogs, bratwurst with sauerkraut, bacon cheeseburgers, and buttermilk prime sirloin. Diners get to choose one of the grilled items. There will also be an unlimited side dishes bar with coleslaw, maple Cajun corn on the cob, penne pasta salad, Caesar salad, green been and almond salad, German potato salad, and a fresh fruit medley. The BBQ costs $17.76 per person. For more information and to make reservations, call (408) 354-8118.

  1. Is the feed lagging behind the actual post? The last three posts (including this one) showed up in my reader only today.

    • Sorry about that. I’ll be better in making posts in a much more timely fashion. Most of them are reposts from our Examiner articles, but the posts here have better images and formatting. :)

      • Ah, I see. On some posts it doesn’t matter about the timing, but the most recent articles were about events happening last week. I always appreciate the hard work of putting together the articles. Thanks for the reply, and I look forward to hearing about future events from you.
