San Jose food events: Aug. 10-12, 2012

Festival season is in full swing, and this weekend the San Jose Jazz Summer Fest, the Los Gatos Fiesta de Artes, and the Campbell Beerwalk take place. It is also a great weekend to catch a food truck or two and enjoy a meal outdoors.

On Friday evening, August 10, Moveable Feast Willow Glen, a weekly food truck meet up, takes place on Curtner Avenue at Canoas Garden Avenue in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Here is this week’s line-up of trucks: Treatbot, Sam’s Chowdermobile, Curry Up Now, No Way Jose, MoBowl, Le Bon, Fairycakes, Bigg Shrimp’n, Eat on Monday, Taqueria Angelicas, Chairman, Jo on the Go, Sanguchon, Soulnese, and Little Chef. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 10-12, the San Jose Jazz Summer Fest takes place. For the lineup of this year’s artists, click here. Besides great music, there will be arts and crafts vendors, kids’ activities, and a wide variety of food. Tickets can be purchased online.

On Saturday, August 11, Moveable Feast Garden City takes place from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 350 Saratoga Avenue (next to Garden City Casino) in San Jose. This week’s trucks are: KoJa Kitchen, Chairman, No Way Jose, O Mi Ninja, An the Go, and more. For updates, like Moveable Feast’s Facebook page and follow them on Twitter.

On Saturday evening, the Night Market, organized by the creators of Moveable Feast, takes place from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 11900 Berryessa Road in San Jose. Some of the participating food vendors are: Treatbot, Little Chef, Fairycakes, We Sushi, Eat on Monday, House of Siam, MoBowl, MoGo BBQ, Bigg Shrimp’n, Yumsilog, Chairman, Forbitten City, Le Bon, Soulnese, and more. On Saturday, August 11, the Downtown Campbell Beerwalk takes place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Participants will be able to enjoy 20 beer tastings. Tickets cost $30 per person and can be purchased online. On Saturday and Sunday, August 11 and 12, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Los Gatos Fiesta de Artes takes place. The festival features 150 artists, food, wine, beer, and live music. There will also be activities for kids, such as a jump house.

For those who are looking for a special Sunday night dinner but do not want to prepare it themselves, LB Steak on Santana Row offers Sunday “Prime” Time. For $39.95 per person diners get to enjoy a 12 oz. cut of meat served au jus, a loaded baked potato and braised greens.
